Cystitis with hematuriaHere is the thing about cystitis with hematuria: it means that the patient's condition is not getting any better. Actually, cystitis with hematuria indicates that the problem could be much more serious then it was initially believed. See, if a patient starts to experience intense pain when urinating, closely followed by blood in the urine, there are two things that could be happening. First, the sufferer can undergo a tearing somewhere in the urinary duct. This rupture can be as high as the kidneys or as low as the urethra. While it is ideal for the rupture to not happen at all, sometimes it simply cannot be stopped. In this case, it is preferable for the tear to happen on the lower urinary tract because it can be identified and resolved rather easy. The second thing that cystitis with hematuria could indicate is much more serious: cancer. Unfortunately, it is what it usually points to. If the patient has never presented with blood in the urine and does not appear to have any sort of internal bleeding connected to the urinary system, the only true cause of cystitis with hematuria remains a tumor. Usually, tumors attach themselves to areas with the most blood flowing through them and break through the walls of the blood vessels. This is where all the blood is coming from. The best thing that anyone can do when they notice blood in the urine is to go to the emergency room immediately. This is not something to be waited out and hoped to pass on its own. |
