Cystitis cysticaWhile it is easy to diagnose and to treat classic cystitis, its most well known complication is not exactly a walk in the park. Cystitis cystica presents with the same initial symptoms as classic cystitis: frequent and painful urination, blood in the urine or a thickened wall of the bladder. However, the difference between cystitis cystica and classic cystitis is all that more important as it complicated to detect. Basically, only an MRI can provide an accurate enough picture of the bladder wall. In cystitis cystica, the tissue of the bladder wall is riddled with submucosal cysts. Technically, these cysts are not hard enough to hinder the proper function of the bladder. However, pair these masses with an infection that leads to the hardening of the wall and the result will be a highly complicated to diagnose and treat type of cystitis. When developing a cystitis cystica treatment scheme, a physician must consider some medication that would destroy the cysts embedded in the tissue of the bladder. However, he or she should take into account that most of the drugs that are able to practically liquefy mucous masses might affect other areas of the bladder. Sometimes, the dangers involved far outweigh the rewards and the treatment is the same as for classic cystitis. |
