Cystitis and endometriosis

Cystitis and endometriosis are two diseases that, at first glance, should not be connected at all. After all, cystitis is described as the inflammation of the tissues that surround the urinary tract. There are many types of cystitis out there, but the main two are infectious cystitis and non - infectious cystitis. Basically, both of them are caused by a bacterial pathogen agent. The difference between them is the way the bacteria enter the body.

Endometriosis is something much more difficult to explain and to cure, in the long run. One simple explanation of endometriosis goes a little like this: there is a very particular type of tissue in the human body that is supposed to exist in only one location. That tissue is the tissue that surrounds the womb on the inside. When parts of this tissue appear anywhere else in the female body, the result is called endometriosis. Why would it be such a problem? Well, mostly because they are considered non - cancerous tumors and they hurt. Also, it can cause bleeding.

So, what is the connection between cystitis and endometriosis? When the growth of tissue is located somewhere in the urinary tract, the symptoms of cystitis and endometriosis are identical. The only way to tell them apart is by doing a test to identify if the disease is caused by bacteria or not. If it is, then the patient has cystitis. If it is not, the diagnosis is endometriosis.
